About

I have always made things. From sky rises of shoeboxes for my Barbies to wax paper-covered comb kazoos, as a kid I had projects going all the time. Remember the Childcraft How and Why books? Had them, LOVED them, referenced them often. My mom was a home-ec teacher, sewing outfits for us, stenciling, cross stitching…it was the 80s and country crafts were all the rage. Crafting just kind of rubbed off on me.

I started to combine paint and paper crafts in middle school, and this continues to be my passion. I discovered scrapbooking as I documented my pregnancy with my son, and have grown to love it. I dab in some light-weight sewing, painting, and random other kid-oriented crafts. And I have a down right giddy obsession with office supplies. It’s bad.

Between working full time, being mom to my hilarious three year old and wife to my wonderful husband, it’s hard to find the time to just make things. When I don’t have my outlet I get all edgy and pouty. So I carve out the time…squeezing in a layout between loads of laundry, getting the kiddo to do an art project with me before dinner. I feel that crafting in the home should be encouraged as a way to bond with your kids and feed your creative side as well. I hope I can provide imaginative and simple ideas for you to yourself or with your family. Enjoy!
