Wordless Wednesday

For today, a photo homage to our “old house”….we wiil move to a larger abode this weekend. This was the only house Nate has ever known, and we lived here the longest in our relationship at 4 years and 6 months. Cindy pointed out that I’ve lived in 3 houses since we’ve known each other. And that’s only been for 5 years.

Aaron put hundreds thousands of hours of work into this house. It looks great now…go to the Flickr set to look at the end result.

When we moved in, August 2005....the weekend Katrina hit NOLA.

We put 80% of our stuff in the back room, and slept on a daybed, for a few weeks while we had the floors done.

Aaron hard at work clearing bushes and trimming tress in the backyard.

Turning the old lean to shed into the office/laundry closet

My first real garden! Summer 2008

Aaron painting the kitchen right after we moved in...can you tell he was happy about it?

Building the deck...Aaron took apart our neighbor's old deck in exchange for the wood.

Lisa's fig tree next door...I will miss it, and Lisa!

A built these beautiful bookcases from scratch

I will miss that porch swing

The young knight looks out over the castle's keep.

A dragon attacks! How will the knight defend the king?

He takes the mighty Excalibur from the (blanket) stone!

Intimidated by the awesomeness of Excalibur, the dragon surrenders and they snuggle up to read The Hobbit together.

Thanks to Big Sis and Little Man for the new castle! Nate LOVES it.

We went to visit my brother, sister in-law and nephew this weekend (thanks for a great time, guys!) and managed to work in some sledding before we left Monday morning. They’d gotten 3 inches or so during Sunday and overnight. This was the kiddo’s first time sledding.

SO COLD, but such fun!

My big dude...

When these two get together, the craziness never stops.

My husband set this up for him so right after school he could have some artistic fun while I made dinner. My heart skipped a beat.

We are in the process of moving our office and backroom around, preparing for carpet placement and the big move. I might be out of pocket for the next couple of days…promise I’ll have more crafty goodness for you soon! The carpet/office packing was not nearly as bad as I thought…thank goodness! Now cross your fingers that our old house sells the first day on the market this coming Monday.
